Welcome to the ATLAS Week 2009 HomepageIn autumn 2009 the largest particle accelerator ever built, the Large Hadron Collider at
CERN in Geneva (Switzerland), will restart operation. The collected data is expected to answer fundamental questions on the origin of the universe. From October 5th to October 9th about 400 physicists from the
ATLAS Collaboration will meet in
Barcelona (Catalonia) to discuss the status of the experiment.
The event is being organized by the
Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE), a member of the ATLAS Collaboration. The venue is the
Sehrs Campus Hotel at the campus of the
Universitat Autňnoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Bellaterra (Barcelona).
The UAB campus is situated about 20km outside the city center. There are several possibilities to reach the campus from Barcelona by public transport for those colleagues staying in hotels in the city center. They take roughly 30 minutes. Please see the
Transport page for more details.
